July 29, 2007, Underwood Plaza Update

Fayetteville Mechanical continued installing under-slab piping, including drainage and vent piping and now copper water piping, at the 1st Floor Level.

Piping was stubbed up above slab level for later continuation. They were also on the 2nd Floor Level laying out locations for core drilling of pipe penetrations through the slab. Some of the penetrations were core drilled.

The second tier of columns (from above the 3rd Floor Level to above the 6th Floor Level) was delivered.

Structural steel installation at the 3rd Floor Level continued with bar joists, edge angles and bent plates and decking being installed.

The columns (and 3rd Floor Level beams that framed into them) at grid DD/9 and U/9 were taken down, the base plates were re-fabricated and the columns and beams were reinstalled.

At the end of the week, the 4th Floor Level beams, stairs and rails up to the 4th Floor Level were delivered.

Portions of the 2nd Floor Level slab were chipped out to install gussets for diagonal bracing at that level.

Reinforcing mesh and rebar, along with block outs for gussets, were installed at the 3rd Floor Level.

The 3rd Floor Level slab, along with the north stair up to the 3rd Floor Level and the south stair up to the 2nd Floor Level, were poured and finished.

The 3rd Floor Level slab was saw-cut and sealed.

Safety continued to be addressed with cables installed at the 3rd Floor Level, barricades raised around the elevator pit on the 1st Floor Level and barricades installed around the openings on the 3rd Floor Level.

Bill’s Electric installed under-slab and riser conduits and foundation wall penetrations at the 1st Floor Level mechanical room.
